
Dr. Louis M. Russell, II

Louis Morgan Russell, II was born on May 10, 1966, in Paulina, Louisiana to Louis and Ida B. Russell, Sr. Louis made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Evergreen Baptist Church by the Late Rev. Aaron Shade. Recognizing the call of God to ministry, Louis began his public ministry at his home church in 1993. Through the investments of a variety of preachers, pastors and family, Louis' progressed and developed in preaching and teaching. Those early years of ministry helped to shape his training in spiritual leadership. In 2005 Rev. Russell accepted the call of the Greater Divine Missionary Baptist Church as they concluded their year long search for a pastor.
Rev. Russell has been the Pastor of the Greater Divine church family for the past 16years. He is married to
Mrs. Velma Bradley Russell. They have 2 children. Jazzmin Russell-Sanderford and Louis Russell, III.
Pastor Russell is a graduate of Christian Bible College of Baton Rouge and presently serves on the faculty.
Rev. Russell is a bi-vocational pastor and is currently employed at the Louisiana Housing Corporation as the Director of Multifamily Housing Development.
Pastor Russell has one calling. To preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. To rightly divide the Word of God.
His Guiding Scripture...."For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast about, for this obligation has been entrusted to me. How terrible it would be for me if I didn’t preach the gospel." (1st Cor. 9:16)
